On September 9th, Mr. PAIJANE MARKSUWAN, Mayor of Songkhla, Thailand, Ms. DUTSADEE PRUKSASET from the Songkhla Provincial Municipality, Ms. PHOPPHORN THONGKANARAK, Deputy Director of the Songkhla Municipal Government Office, and their creative city application team visited the Wuhan Municipal Bureau Natural Resources and Urban-Rural Development to exchange and discuss the successful experiences of Wuhan as a "City of Design". They also embarked on a three-day international exchange seminar and city inspection tour in Wuhan on the Creative Cities Network, aiming to jointly explore new paths for creative design development and promote friendly cooperation between the two cities at the international level. The delegation was received by Ms. Zhu Ying, Deputy Director of the Wuhan Municipal Bureau Natural Resources and Urban-Rural Development, Ms. Zhang Lu, Deputy Division Director of the Urban Design , as well as Mr. Huang Huan, Principal of our institute, Mr. Li Haijun, Deputy Principal, and the "City of Design" task force.
During the three-day exchange, the two parties conducted extensive and detailed discussions on Wuhan's "City of Design" application process, successful experiences, project cases, and future plans, sharing the wisdom in urban design and management. Not only did they hold multiple thematic seminars, but they also conducted field visits to several representative creative design projects in Wuhan, covering urban planning, architectural design, public art, and other fields, fully demonstrating Wuhan's comprehensive strength and innovative vitality in creative design. Through the field visits and in-depth discussions, the two parties not only deepened their cultural understanding but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
