From November 1 to 15, 2023, the 7th Wuhan Design Biennale and the 2023 Wuhan Design Day were held at locations including the Si Meitang Railway Site Cultural Park in Wuchang District and the Wuhan Iron and Steel Group Yun Valley·606 Industrial Park in Hongshan District. Themed "Better Design · Greater Wuhan," this biennale aims to promote the "Design Industry" through Integrated Design,reinforcing Wuhan's designation as a World "City of Design." This year’s biennale featured five main themes and 16 exhibition areas, covering an exhibition space of 16,000 square meters with 1,973 exhibits on display. It comprehensively showcased the contemporary Chinese design level and comprehensive strength of Wuhan's design. The event saw participation from four academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 15 national engineering survey and design masters, 55 international guests from 27 cities across 20 countries, 20 institutions, 90 design enterprises, over 260 design enterprise leaders, and more than 5,000 experts, business representatives, and institutional participants attending, exhibiting, and competing. Both online and offline, the event attracted 350,000 visits. For the first time, an online metaverse exhibition hall and digital collectibles were introduced, empowering the design exhibition with digital technology and showcasing the limitless possibilities of "Design + Technology."
