From November 1 to 14, 2021, the 2021 Wuhan Design Day and the 6th Wuhan Design Biennale were held. The main venue was located at the Sunac·Wuhan 1890 Project Industrial Site Pioneer Demonstration Area (former Hanyang Iron and Steel Bar Factory), themed "True Quality City." This exhibition organized 27 events, with nearly 5,000 works on display and 52 series of activities. It attracted participants from 25 countries worldwide, over 40 cities (including 30 Cities of Design, 14 Chinese Creative Cities, three provincial capitals in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, ten cities in the Wuhan Metropolitan Area, and others), more than 160 professional organizations, units, and renowned designers. The exhibition covered nine major areas including engineering design, industrial design, UNESCO Creative Cities, IBLUE Digital Experiment Space, Wuhan Creative Design Contest, etc., showcasing the latest achievements across various design fields comprehensively. The exhibition featured a rich variety of formats, including physical displays, installation art, interactive art, videos, photographs, animations, fashion, and interactive forums.
