In November 2022, the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) was held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. To continuously echo the conference's theme, guide design education to focus on the environment and climate change, and promote exchanges and cooperation among Creative Cities in the field of design education, Curitiba, Querétaro, and Wuhan jointly organized the second International Street Design Challenge (from November 12 to 13) with the theme "Transforming Suburban Streets through Biophilic Design." The call for entries was expanded to include design school teams and proposals from the Creative Cities Network. Through extensive solicitation, a total of 25 design teams composed of teachers and students from 19 design schools in 11 Creative Cities across 8 countries, including the UK, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines, Canada, and Ecuador, participated in the second challenge. On December 17, 2022, the award ceremony for the second International Street Design Challenge was co-organized by the Wuhan City of Design Promotion Center and Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, along with the 2022 International Innovative Design Education Forum. The forum, themed Innovative Design Education for the Future" ,brought together experts from design schools in 9 Creative Cities worldwide to explore new models for the future development of design education. The event was promoted on the official website of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, significantly enhancing the global influence of the competition.
