Project Introduction

On August 24, 2020, the call for entries for the 2020 Second Wuhan Creative Design Contest, hosted by the Wuhan Municipal People's Government, officially kicked off. As one of the major design events in Wuhan  City of Design, the Wuhan Creative Design Contest aims to focus on the theme of "Urban Renewal," leveraging Wuhan's unique positioning and industrial comparative advantages in building a City of Design to attract top design firms from home and abroad to jointly participate in a world-class urban design competition in Wuhan. The goal is to foster a vibrant creative design atmosphere, promote high-quality urban development and efficient governance through creative design, and build a livable, resilient, and smart megacity that offers citizens a high-quality life, contributing to the realization of a modern, international, and eco-friendly Wuhan.

This year's competition centers around the renovation of old communities and the design of creative districts, encompassing planning and design of creative districts, public facility design, and cultural design. It is open to professional design firms, teams, individuals, as well as social groups, relevant individuals, and college and high school students who are passionate about creative design from around the world. The competition spans three months and includes multiple stages such as entry collection, evaluation, public announcement, and award ceremony. With expert judges invited from both domestic and international fields, the final winners, including gold, silver, copper, excellence awards, and the annual master gold award, will be honored at the grand award ceremony during the 2020 Wuhan Design Day , which opens on November 1, 2020, and will be exhibited in a dedicated section during the 2021 Sixth Wuhan Design Biennale.
