On August 20, 2021, the call for entries for the 2021 Third Wuhan Creative Design Contest, hosted by the Wuhan Municipal People's Government, was launched. With the theme of "Creative Bloom in Urban Beauty," this competition invited professional design firms, emerging designers, college students, and creative design enthusiasts worldwide to participate in brainstorming innovative designs for the renovation of old residential areas, the preservation of historical streets and buildings, and the creative design of ecological spaces and infrastructure, contributing to the building of a beautiful homeland.

Over a span of three months, the event included stages such as collection, selection, public announcement, and awards ceremony. Nearly 500 entries were submitted, undergoing more than 800,000 votes and rigorous selection by professional judges. Ultimately, three gold awards, six silver awards, twelve bronze awards, thirty excellence awards, and one special award for commissioned projects of the competition were presented. The award ceremony took place during the 2021 Wuhan Design Day and the Sixth Wuhan Design Biennale.
